Layers
New Adjustment Layer

Adjust the hue and the saturation to 100% (or what ever looks good to you)

I tried this.. but not getting the same effect.

I'm not sure what else to offer.
Try dropping a layer between the image and the hue/sat layer with a color and setting it to color. Pinks/purples make greens, greens make pink...play with what color you put between them. **SHRUGS**

Maybe someone else has an idea on how. That's just the way I do it. Sorry it's not working for you.
