I'm attempting to make a gif/static picture creation like
this one for tumblr using Photoshop CS3. I made that one last night, and I made another last night, with no issue. Now I'm having an issue.
I made the gif, and then I went to image-->canvas size. I managed to make the canvas size bigger horizontally without a problem. When I did this vertically, my optimized gif size is much smaller than my "original" size. My "original" file size is always, always, 551K no matter what I do to the image. And this is as soon as I increase the canvas size. It doesn't change when I add pictures/layers, coloring, delete layers/pictures, etc. The only time it changes is when I decrease the size of the canvas, which defeats the purpose of me increasing the canvas size. Before I increase the canvas size, the file is 138K, but it skyrockets as soon as I increase the file size. Because tumblr won't upload any gifs over 500K, it's not uploading on tumblr, and I'm repeating the exact process I did before. I also didn't change the dither settings on the originals, the dither settings are at GIF 128 dithered. Any ideas on what's causing the sudden jump in file size? Thanks in advance!
