Hello there! Well this is my first post here. I hope I'm doing it well. if not please tell me.
I've read the rules of this group so at the end of the tutorial I'll put notes.
NOTE. This tutorial is a long image. [why? because livejournal keeps deleting all the stuff I write as soon as I type, so this is a copy and paste from my notes~]
Preview.
Information:
Program: Photoshop CS5 but this tutorial works on CS+ I dunno if this works on older versions.
Using: lens flare + bokeh texture + 2 Gradients + 2 Fill layers. [it's easy]
Type: For All, no need a lot of acknowledge to do this kind of vintage icons. [I've explained everything]
PSD: Yes. if you want to see more detailed this tutorial.
Other. Sorry if I made any mistake.
PSD:
Here download from my deviantart. :3 Additional notes.
a) Is very important that your bokeh is according to your image. In this case blue/purple works but in some photos bright bokeh does not work. So if your image is darken a bright bokeh is required. if your image is bright a darken bokeh is required.
b) You can play with the gradient direction, remember to focus just one part. not all the icon, image; for a better effect.
c) If you don't think de 50-30mm Zoom, chose another option. and You can move the point to the direction you want.
d) In addition I've sharpened the image. first flatten your image and duplicate it then go to filter sharpen -sharpen and set the layer to 50% of it's opacity.
e) Remember all this tutorial depends about the kind of icon/image you want to use.
f) Well this is my "Vintage ~decorative~ style" so don't kill me D: there out are a lot of Vintage tutorials, but this one is my way :]
Thanks for your time. <3
