i have your PSD and this is freaking awesome!

just one small point i think you may have missed - Step 13 that layer is set to soft light 54% in the PSD

Hmmm well honestly it might work with some caps and not with others. The ones that I've tried it on (SPN & TB) have come out nice, but there's always a chance it won't work with every cap. With PSDs and tutorials I try to experiment with the layers and the opacity levels until I like the result :)
