How to extract only 4 images from a video?

Let's say you have a video and you want to extract only 4 images from the video that are randomly picked by the program itself throughout the video. Is there a way to set kmplayer like that or a program that does it? Thanks for the help in advance!

ive never tried it but you could change the cap settings to only extract four caps and only take a cap every 25000* frames

*depends on video size, a 41 minute episode of tv i have has 59777 frames.

edit:
another way is that you could pause the video at a random place and take a screencap by pressing ctrl + alt + E (capture >> frame: what you see) and it will then let you choose a filename and save location.
