your resolution should be set to 100

Usually when I crop images I have the settings set to Width: 1 px and Height: 1 px.

Try setting it to Width: 1 in and Height: 1 in and see if that solves the problem.

This topic is interesting. Is there a difference between doing it by 100px and 100px and 1in by 1in?

It basically does the same thing, but the images will be cropped at a larger, perfect square, size which some like to work with before resizing them to the 100px by 100px size.
