Anyone else shocked that we're more than half way through 2012 already? INSANE. This kind of post was probably better suited for July but w/e w/e. I thought we could some sort of "mid" year icon survey...type thing. Everything applies to 2012 only, of course.

Any new fandoms you started iconning? Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Another, LoK
Any new techniques you've picked up, or a skill you feel you've ~mastered? I've started experimenting with some stuff like extracting lineart from animation screencaps and recoloring the picture (like manga coloring, but with animation).
Any fonts/textures/etc you've used and abused? SF Movie Poster and Al Kisah, midnight_road textures

I haven't commented on it yet but your newest submission to IQ is just SO SO SO great. My favorite was the very first icon you posted here! Everything is just down right PERFECTO♥

Believe me, it's not that impressive when you consider all the variations and fugly icons! think only a fourth of those have actually been posted, really.

akshkashakshakshaksh thank you so much ;A; It was one of the hardest icons I have ever made. I can't for the life of me figure out how people make such gorgeous complex icons. It's so haaaaaaaaard and time-consuming!

Oh man if we're taking into consideration icons that were started but never finished I'd totally be in the 4digits as well, lol.

YOU'RE WELCOME! I lovelovelove when an icon that has had so much work be put into it pays off which is definitely the case in this icon! I feel you, especially on the time consuming part! Even my ~simple icons can take a crapload of time, let alone considering things like blocking and blending and all that noise.

Oh, when I say scrapped, I mean finished icons that I realized I hated and then deleted.

I actually went and counted the ones I have from this year. I didn't count all of the variations, and I'm sure I have deleted a lot, too.

But the number I came up with is 680.

That sounds like a really interesting way of doing animation icons! I tried something like that once with comic scans and then never again because it took too long but maybe I'll revisit.
