Hello icon_talk!

Yesterday I made a post here at the community where I asked people to give their opinion regarding how quiet the icon community has become, and the reason why people seem to be leaving LJ. Where do you live?: Germany

Is your personal journal friends-locked or public?: f-locked

What do you write about in your personal journal (fandom, real life or both?) Both fandom and real life, though what I write about more tends to differ. Sometimes fandom, sometimes real like.

Which fandoms are you most active in: Supernatural, Whedonverse, Bones, Torchwood/Doctor Who, Fringe, White Collar, Being Human, Misfits, The Vampire Diaries, Hawaii Five-0, Castle, Haven. I'm most active in the SPN fandom, but I'm up date with and willing to talk about all of these if the opportunity presents itself. *gg*

How long have you been making graphics and where do you post them?: For, IDK, 2 years or so? And I post at bl00dredskies.

What do you like to make the most (icons, headers, resources, tutorials)?: Picspams, definately. And icons, though it usually takes me ages to have enough to post.

Who is you favorite graphic artist/icon maker/tutorial writer, who is your biggest inspiration? My favorite graphic artists, that's quite a list, so I'll spare you. But talipuu, darlingbones, animotus, crystalchain, exp0se, emily_reich, cakeholes and fromperdition are high up there. As for tutorials, exp0se, skydawnjade and ohfreckle are a big help.

One thing you want any potential friend to know about you: I'm not one to comment on every.single.entry, but I do try to built a connection with all of my flisters, and keep it up. And I'm random, sometimes I don't post in over a week, just to then write two entries a day. Just like the mood hits. ;)

We do share all these, lol. I watch other shows you've mentioned in your fandoms, but these are ones I'm now or have been overly obsessed with. Add? :)

Nope, it's by darlingbones. 90% of the icons I use are made by others. ;)

And I wish I was like that. ;) Once I posted something, pimped it and had the entry open a few times a day to reply to comments, I'm usually ready to kill the whole thing with fire. *rofl*

Not all day, a few times a day. ;) I usually get between 20 and 30 comments on an icon post, plus my replies, and a few less on picspams. If I have 50 comments on an entry (which happened, like, twice?), I concider that A TON. *lol*

On my icons I get like, 15-20 comments at best. On my PSD's, however, I get something like 30-40 comments. I think that's why I put them in one post, lol.
I tried doing 2 picspams (well, more, but that was before I've discovered the magic of photoshop~), anyway, it was for a challenge and I'm not even sure if I'd done it right XD I did enjoy making them, though. Maybe you've got a couple of picspam tips to share?

To be honest, the response to my icons baffles me. I get asked to make more quite often, but I'm soooo sloooow. *rofl* Having a postable batch compiled takes me forever.

Hm, general tips . . . *ponders* Let the pictures tell a story, rather than just randomly posting a few pretty pics. If it's for an epsiode or a movie, make it kind of a review with pics. Try to capture what's happening in the scenes. IDK. ;) As for the graphic making aspect of picspamming, I'd recommend only doing a basic prep on the single pics, and then editing the tables as a whole until you're happy.

That probably wasn't helpful at all. *lol*

lol, I just make whatever I want and when I got a lot of a certain fandom/person, I post it. Which probably isn't s good thing and is why they look unmatched. XD

Even though it's only four caps per episode, the caps you've chosen are spot on. Seriously amazing job you did there. )
