July 1st means it's time for round 9 of Ask the Maker here at icon_talk!

Here you'll get the chance to ask icon makers who sign up questions about their icons and other graphics. You can ask for tutorials, guides/"How to", or ask any other questions related their work so these makers can create a Q&A post with the answers to all the questions they get. As

What can we request from you (tutorials, Q&A, guides etc. .PSDs are not allowed: Anything is fine. I'm pretty bad at saving PSDs, but I'd say most of my techniques are used regularly in my icon making so I should be able to come up with something. Basically, I'll try my best with whatever is requested.

Oooh, I totally overlooked your thread so far! (i may have been out of town ;))

Could you write a tutorial on one (just one) of these? I'm interested in the smooth look of their faces and the soft lighting.
