Introduce Yourself
Name on your nametag: Mathilde. I'll answer to Matilda since I've gone by that nickname for a while (a friend and my family call me that sometimes, and I've no idea why).
And where do you live?: France, though hopefully it won't be forever.
Answer to your age: 20. 21 in December. A test told me I thought like a 41-year-old. I think there was some truth in that. Sometimes I'm just 8 though.

Share Some Interests
I'm currently really into: Community. Like, I don't know what happened but I keep rewatching random episodes and falling in love with the characters a bit more every time. I'm obsessed right now. Also really enjoying Doctor Capaldi so far, and still fangirling over Orphan and Orange. Still stuck on iconning Once Upon a Time because I hate everything I make for other fandoms. *sobs* And clearly in need of new fandoms but hey, I started Breaking Bad! Also: bright and vibrant rainbows, the colour Cyan, the 'Jellyka Castle's Queen' font and sleeping in because the new term starts on Monday and I'm going have to ( ... )

I love the Twelfth Doctor already! I'm actually looking forward to this season unlike the last one. I was ready for a new doctor.

Band that everyone should be into; iamamiwhoami. :D

Same, it's refresing to see a new face and take on the character! 'Deep Breath' was a bit disappointing as an episode imo but 'Into the Dalek' was pretty great. And I loved Capaldi already so I was prepared to like him, but he's been as great as I expected him to be :)

Ooh that sounds awesome! I've been listening to random indie Scandinavian bands/artists on online radios but I'm too lazy to research them afterwards, haha.

For some strange reason, I wasn't paying that much attention to "Into the Dalek," or maybe it's generally a rule of thumb that I hate watching Daleks (they frightened me when I was younger, and I watched the original series and when they were first introduced they were scary and it didn't help that my brother kept saying delete or exterminate right next to me -.-). I actually enjoyed "Deep Breath," it's refreshing to see how an old companion reacts to the Doctor regenerating.

I love Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor, and seriously got pissed off when people said he was too old to play a doctor =/.

I agree, I didn't like the first episode. It was just...all over the place. The second episode was much better. Yeah, I was excited when he was announced, I'd never had an 'older' doctor so I was really interested to see it play out.

Do iiiit! She's amazing! Also, check out her videos that go along with the songs (especially the latest ones!) they're so great and different. :D

I need to do a re-watch of Community SO BADLY. I already did my Brooklyn Nine-Nine rewatch, and that made me so happy. I haven't seen S1 Community in ages, and I just love S1 so much!

IT IS LIKE YOU KNOW ALL MY FAVORITE THINGS, MATHILDE. GET OUT OF MY BRAIN.

Favorite foods? Nachoes. Salads. Chocolate cake. Chilli. CHEESE.
Also have you watched The Mindy Project??? If not, TOTALLY WATCH THE MINDY PROJECT. There are still TOO MANY dicks for a female led show, but, like, it is still hilarious, adorable, and super fun to watch. And only two seasons! And the third season is coming up really soon! Best time to get into it, tbh. And since it is a comedy, it is short so you can watch an episode or two at a time, in between other things, and still feel productive!

Brooklyn Nine-Nine was recc'd to me before - should I watch it? S1 of Community is so, so good! I can't say I like it more than S3 or even S2 (because S2 has the hilarious Anthropology classes) but I love seeing how the characters were at the very beginning and how they evolved. I need more shows that are cute, clever and hilarious like this one.

Haha, well clearly your taste in things is flawless, but I already knew that ;) The Jellyka fonts are the best!! Idk how I ended up downloading all of them but I've been using them a lot. Also really into 'Admiration Pains' since you mentioned it in one of your guides - I'm trying not to put it on every other icon I make. FONTS.

I'll try that one then! I feel like sitcoms/fun shows should officially be part of the uni student's survival kit.

BROOKLYN NINE-NINE IS ABSOLUTELY SO WORTH IT. Everyone I've recc'd it to who has watched it has LOVED it. It is so, so, so amazing. It overtook Community as favorite comedy show for me, tbh. Everything about it is SO GREAT. I think that this gifset best sums up why it is the most fantastic show.

FONTS ARE THE BEST. I've gotten back into Fangtasia recently, and I'm having to restrain myself. Also Shipped Goods is totally my favorite right now as well, and I've used it on EVERYTHING.

I hope you like it! It is a little heavy on the romantic comedy, but I ended up loving it a lot more than I ever expected it to, honestly. FUN SHOWS KEEP ME GOING. I can't do depressing things right now; uni is depressing enough.

Idk if I can love a show more than I love Community O.o Buut it's good to know that there things that are as good. Okay I'm not sure I got the gifset but it sure looks like a hilarious show :D

I love Rom Coms. They're the things I tell myself I shouldn't like but like anyway, so...

Amen. The term starts on Monday. They haven't given us a timetable or any indications whatsoever as to when and where we're supposed to show up. So great - not. I'm ready to stay home and watch tv because I'm not showing up at 7 a.m if I end up not having any classes.

Doctor Capaldi is wonderful so far. I was ready for him to be amazing, and I have not really been disappointed.

ALL FOOD IS MY FAVOURITE FOOD! I'm forever stanning cheese pizza though. Annnnd recs:

Parks & Recreation for the sitcom. IDK if you are still watching it or not, but if you still haven't gotten to S3, give it a try. And maybe give Veep a try if you haven't yet? Freaking hilarious. Also, I am absolutely seconding The Mindy Project, because it is amazing and more people should love it to death.

Perfect shows from start to finish are hard, but I think Friday Night Lights was a decent caliber for 4/5 seasons. And I've never actually watched S2, which was the not so great season, so you can actually just watch 1, 3, 4 & 5 and love it for it's flawlessness.

Absolutely, he's been brilliant so far and I have a feeling he's only going to get better :D

Pizza is always a win, you can't lose with pizza. Cheese though. I still eat waaay too much of it because things without melted cheese on them aren't as good, clearly.

You're going to get tired of recc'ing Parks & Rec to me! I swear it's first or second on my to-watch it and I'm actually looking forward to giving it another try. I was going to catch up on all tv this summer but it didn't happen at all, I didn't watch anything. Veep sounds great and I love political comedy, so yay!

Cheese is the ONLY way to have pizza. I learned that while in Italy. Though the Italians also made a mean seafood pizza, so if I could get them like that here in Australia I'd probably be converted from cheese only, lol.

Nah, if I got sick of rec'ing it, that would mean I would be sick of it and that's impossible. I'm bugging my sister about it too, so you're not alone in the plan for me to convert everyone into lovers of it. Veep IS awesome though. So hilarious. Though I always want to swear after watching it, lol.

Italians are good at making you addicted to food. I know it since I'm half-Italian and think about food all the time.

Haha, does Veep's lead swear as much as Malcolm Tucker?

raiindust September 6 2014, 23:19:32 UTC
I'm not sure how much he swears, but in Veep, everyone gets to swear. In creative fashions that make me lol a lot, and then consider how clever the use of swearing was in that moment. I definitely need to remember to just watch it at night, otherwise I will go hang out with children and the worst will occur.

I'd recommend Garfunkel and Oates, though its more a comedy than a drama and I'd second The Mindy Project as female-led shows. Happy Endings and Sirens as an uplifting sitcom.
