Hi fellow icon makers, it's 4 four months into 2013, and so I thought I would do a sort of progress meme things as we had one similar last year plus it would be nice to get some conversation going in this comm. So explain your favourite icons & techniques you have made, managed and loved also your worse and your areas for improvement

What techniques/improvement have you have managed since 2012?
Definitely text! The text round at 20inspirations really forced me to push myself to not use the same fonts, colors and techniques over and over again.
I've also tried to use more natural colorings now, but at the same time have a lot of colorful icons.

If you could improve anything for the rest 0f 2013 what would it be?
Everything. I mean, there's always room for improvement. I really hope I can get better at more complex compositions!

Anything Else to add?
I guess it's kinda bad that I found it way easier to find 10 bad icons than good ones :S

I am a huge fan of your cropping and your lighting work, obviously, but more complex stuff from you would be wonderful as well. Your blocking and blending are already pretty fantastic so it shouldn't be too difficult for you, I'd imagine. I can already pick out heaps of complex favorites at your community so...

Your use of colours is wonderful, I totally love that The Fall icon, the oranges and reds work so well together, and the composition is awesome! I also love your use of text and your cropping :D

I've always loved how glowy your icons are! 4, 6 and 7 especially.

The last round at 20inspirations seems to have gotten everybody on the text bandwagon :P

I love the lighting on your icons, on all of them and I especially love that even though you're trying new things colouring-wise, you're also still producing icons that are gorgeously vibrant (like 5 and 8 of your favourites). I have a bit of a bias towards bold, bright colours and your posts are always a treat :)
That being said #9 of your favourites is an absolute stunner!

I really love that 10th icon. i've gotta admit it amuses me that every time i see it i think of orangeeees tho but i love it very much. the comosition and the colorus and everything is perfect.

I know the texture and all (and it's not like I saw it until I went for it, it just made me think of oranges and then i went like WHY? lol). So it amuses me deeply for some reason.But I hope you are not taking it the bad way because it's still so gorgeouuuuuus.

I think your complex icons from your faves are good, even though I finding the lighting of them a little dark (it maybe my computer screen or a trend going round?). Yes in a way I find it harder to find the ones that are good than the bad ones cause I'm so critically of the icons I make that if I make a bad one it goes straight in the recycle bin!!
