I would love to know your methods for coloring the background of an icon without it looking washed out or fake like mine do.

And how you get such bright, crisp results in icons like this one:

I was going to ask pretty much the same. I especially like this one:

I'll definitely talk about it in the guide! I used the same 'technique' (I guess you call it?) for both of them. :]

Filled here! I actually didn't get into specifics for this icon, I hope the guide is clear though. Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi, could you find some more icons like the one of Vision that shows what you're looking for? I'm trying to find more examples for the post and get a better grasp of how to explain it. Thanks!

Sure.

What I really love about the Vision one and these as well is that the colors are crisp and they don't take over the entire icon. The brightness and contrast is just right so that you know what the focus of the icon is but it's done with bright, vibrant colors and doesn't look overdone or washed out.

Oh I see! Actually these were colored the same way as the Spike icon you requested, except I used natural colors. So when I get the guide up for that you can see what I mean. Is that ok? Otherwise I'd need to do a tutorial for these on their own, which I don't have the time for, unfortunately. :\

That's fine, I don't mind since it's the same technique. Thanks!
