I'd love to know your process to make this sort of coloring? Making it look like an old movie somehow.


And also how do you manage to make extreme close crops without having the icon look all blurry? Because this is sorcery to me!

made a walkthrough for the first icon here not sure if it helps because i think a lot of the credit for the old movie-ness goes to the original picture i used (taken by the Hannibal director David Slade) and i don't think i've ever attempted to do it with normal caps.

as for the extreme close ups, i didn't really do anything special to those icons, just the paint daubs filter (brush size 1, sharpness 1 then edit > fade to your pleasure). also, choosing caps that are already close ups (like the 2nd one) helps. idk, i've always had difficulty making extremely close cropped icons except when it comes to hannibal caps so i think there must be something with the lighting on that show lol. like i wouldn't even dare try this with buffy caps or s1 doctor who caps. XD
