So I finished the first semester of my junior year. Normally, that wouldn't seem like a big deal, but it is to me because I'm moving off campus. Realistically speaking, half my shit is still in Nick or Yvonne's room, but I am mostly moved out of my old room. I had a few reservations about leaving Stiles behind at first, but the last few weeks have really confirmed that I'm ready and willing to make this move. I suppose I need a bit of distance from campus life. I'm not handling college friendships as well as the high school ones. In college, it feels like you're really getting to know people very well, so the few years that you know them, compared to the lifetime friends of high school, seems almost equal in some ways. That's just not true. Especially when you realize that people are not who you think they are. It's an upsetting realization. By moving off campus, I get to start over to a certain degree. I haven't known Ricardo as long as I've known some of the others, and hopefully I won't know him as a person who has drastically and negatively changed from the person I once knew. Or hopefully I won't realize the true extremity of his behavioral patterns that have been there all along...and then realize that he's not who I thought he was. The very thought of all this nonsense is making me sick to my stomach. At least it's not everyone I know...just a couple of individuals...but it's enough to make me take myself out of the middle of the mess.
In other news, I'm in San Antonio until the 27th, at which point I will be going to Nashville until the 4th. I have also decided to make a list of rules for college dating that I will continue to add to if I think of more.
