Happy Birthday to Me

Jul 07, 2007 23:22

Fabulous fabulous time last night, people. I'm surprised that despite the fact I had been waiting a whole year with ridiculous expectations of one day, it somehow exceeded them. How is that even possible? Thunder and lightening as the clock ticked down to midnight probably had something to do with it. Getting my ears peirced finally may also helped, even if I did get one too many weird looks clutching a teddy bear. Heather's magically expanding Ford Ange- I mean, Taurus was quite cool, while the men that Karina and I KNEW where hiding in the bushes to rape us weren't. But somehow we found this hilarious. The man we said hi to who responded by staring at us like we were potential criminals and shielding his wife from us - even better. We may have just rescued Karina from her mom before she started breathing fire, and we sped off  - at a responsible speed of course - half singing half shouting Happy Birthday. Once we all arrived we may have been a bit timid about going into the hookah bar, but I marched right up those steps because it was my birthday and I was gonna hookah dammit! I was greeted at the top of the stairs by a dark, crowded and smoke filled room, and taking it all in - literally - I immediatly gagged. Good sign I think! We got a table eventually, and after flagging what down what seemed like an endless stream of (beautiful, oh so beautiful) waiters one got us started. Hint - do not inhale! And avoid the mixed fruit, bleh. Overall though, very interesting experience. I guess my night wouldn't have been complete without the waiter overhearing it was my birthday and bringing out a slice of balclava with a candle stuck in it. Authentic middle eastern birthday tradition I'm sure. Once again I got Happy Birthday sung to me although this time it was half the restaurant singing, the frat guys next to us who seemed far far too good at smoking serenading me extra loud. Apparently they spent a great deal of the night looking over at our table - because of Amy's sick nasty dance moves, obviously. We left in a bit of a rush, but seeing as we could not find our car nor after that our way out of Providence, it was in fact all a little pointless. I enjoyed the view though very much - and by view I mean the cute boys from Brown University who ride bikes around town at midnight. We saw an awesome party too - one that I think I could have gotten into with my birthday status and goodlooks of course. On the way home the stars were insanely bright but I was interupted as I was gazing up at them by the two rude men driving next to us who apparently were racing our car without informing us. Don't start a fight you can't win bitchess. They turned off the highway before they were humiliated by a 4'11" girl in a Taurus. Good choice guys. Once everyone who needed to be dropped off was, we headed over to Wendy's. Never did fake fried food taste so good. I got around to opening my presents, and alas Suzie bought me FOUR, yeah I said it, FOUR packs of oatmeal chocolate chip cookie mix. Thanks to Susan, I'll be fat AND happy now. Kevin also gave me a very nice card which is hanging on my window and a gift card to the mall which needs to be used stat. The best part of my night may have been arriving home, and my parents not being mad at me for getting home at 1 AM. Or getting a ride with a driver other than themselves. Just happy to see me. Spectacular I think.
