heartbreak.
my mom's horse, miss ellie, has had a mysteriously bulging right eye for some time now...and it turns out it was a tumor. after weighing our options and figuring out what's best for her- the horsie vet decided that it would be best to simply take her eye out. so yesterday, her right eye was removed.
but the moment my mom came home early from work, i could see in her face that something was wrong. and i knew immediately that it had to do with ellie. she told me that the surgery didn't go so well, and that the vet says it's malignant.
she has cancer.
my mom is so broken over this. we all are. she's been a member of this family almost as long as i have. i hardly remember a time without her. and now, we just have to make the best of the time we have left with her. lots of treats. lots of love...
