This is probably a long shot but I was wondering if anyone could suggest a substitute for the ground almonds in this recipe:

I did wonder whether breadcrumbs might work...

Then I read the recipe - please no... It doesn't sound nice!

Still, if you must, breadcrumbs would work, but probably need some sugar. Decent bread with some flavour which is nice and stale and very finely grated would probably be OK... Maybe... Ish... erm...
