SHOPWISE!

Not everything that looks good on a manikin will look good on you! There's more than a thousand of places to shop for clothes, but choosing the right kind of clothing that will fit you is really more complicated than it seems.

There is always four things that you should consider before paying for an apparel; fabric, design, price, and fit. The first thing that you should consider if you want to get your money's worth is fabric. Fabric talks! The fabric that a shirt is made of will determine its posh, and longevity. Feel the clothing before trying it on. Feel if it breathes. Feel its texture. Feel its color.(Yes, i'm serious. Color can be felt.) If it feels rough, then its color can easily fade after a couple of washes. Then try stretching it a bit. Try stretching the collar area and also the waist end. If it stretches to much, then don't buy it. You don't want to end up with a bacon shirt just after a couple of uses, although there are fabric that are resilient and stretchable like lycra.

Next, try checking its design. If its a printed shirt, check whether it was well printed. The color of the prints shouldn't be seen when you invert the shirt inside out. Next, check for cracks on the print. Cracks mean a low quality print. Low quality prints can easily be determined; Usually, if it feels heavy, sticky, and smells like sweat shop.
Check the clothing's craftsmanship. Check its bead work, embroidery, buttons, or whatever it is that is embedded to the shirt. You wouldn't want seed beads or buttons falling of your shirt while you're moving.

Next thing to consider is fit. Having a medium size body doesn't mean that a medium size shirt will fit you. There are a couple of things you must take note of. Check for the body length, chest size(especially for guys with muscular pectorals), neck radius, and sleeve length and width. Don't just pick a shirt and and buy it just because it fits your size. You HAVE to try it on first!
Wearing an Armani, Versace, or a Gucci shirt doesn't mean that it will look good on you. Different brands have DIFFERENT standard fit. Look for shops that offer shirts that are more fitting for your body.

The last but definitely not the least thing you should try to consider is the price. Have a budget when you shop for clothes. Don't just go around the mall and pick out whatever you see. My best advice when you're buying a shirt is NOT to buy it when you're in doubt. Think it over. There are still thousands of shops out there that still have a lot to offer.
