Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Let me preface this by saying that I hadn't planned on buying the book this morning when Joe and I walked into the HEB at midnight so he could buy it. But they had a "guess how many jelly beans are in the jar?" contest for a free book, and apparently I am a jelly bean spatial prodigy, as I guessed the exact number of beans (though I must confess, ( Read more... )

Yeah I still don't approve of Remus/Tonks either, but the man deserves a little happiness in his life and you can't do anything about canon ships. She's a metamorph though, so there will be COPIOUS amounts of fic with her shifting into Sirius for Remus because Remus is OMGSOEMOSAD.

You probably don't like Snape nearly as much as I do - he's been my favorite character since GoF, and I've only liked him more since I started shipping Remus/Severus like a madwoman - so you probably didn't spend nearly as much time as I did wanting to scream and beat JKR about the face and head with something heavy and blunt because OH MY FUCKING GOD WOMAN HOW COULD YOU DO THAT TO MY SEVERUS YOU HEARTLESS BITCH I HATE YOU I HATE YOU I HATE YOU!

Ahem.

I was upset that I didn't get more Luna; I was hoping that she'd increasingly shift towards major-character status, but it appears that it's not to be. And for someone who categorically denied that anything funny would be going on between Luna and Neville, JKR certainly talked about them as a unit a lot. This makes me sad, because if Harry's going to end up with a girl (AND NOT WITH DRACO WHERE HE BELONGS), I would definitely want it to be my Luna and not that fucking cunt Mary Sue Ginny.

"It's too dangerous!" "BUT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU ALL THIS TIME!" :vomit:

Man, I'm so totally not going to make an opinions post in my own journal at this rate, I'm spending so much time commenting on my thoughts in everyone else's.

No, I was saddened to see that Snape isn't actually good. I was so worried he was going to be the one killed, but then the minute Dumbledore started pleading, my jaw dropped.

I think Harry is fine with Ginny. And I'm not really all that much into slash, so I'm not getting too disappointed over some of the ships.

I do dig "RAB". It'll be interesting to see how that pans out.

My firm belief is that he's still double-crossing Voldemort and that he'll die in a disgustingly heroic way in Book 7 whilst saving Harry's life and repudiating the life-debt he still owes James Potter.
