So this is what went down.

I was walking back the whole 5 minute walk from the subway station cipro to my apartment. I was more than halfway to my apartment when a motorcycle drove up on the sidewalk behind me, snatched my bag and drove off. I of course held on as long as I could to the bag but in the end fell on my face. Yelling something like fuck you as he drove off. I lost my drivers lic. international student id, student id, 50 euro in cash, an amex card, my debit card, a metro bus card that is worth 30 euro (about 37 us dollars), $100 in travelers checks, my cell phone, keys to my school and my apartment, my cd player, some cds, a trashed white tee-shirt that I had been wearing at the shelter eariler that day.

I got everything under control, I went to the national police, (different from the local/city), it was interesting, but eventually wrote up my report. I cancelled my cards and the phone, went and picked up my replacement card at amex by the spanish steps today. a friend lent me some cash so i could buy a new metro pass. Got reembriused for my travelers checks there too. Got a new key for school, still waiting on the one for my apartment. My dad is going to send my new debit card to me. My drivers lic was going to expire soon anyhow so I am not so worried about that. I don't like the idea of having no photo id on me so I am going to carry a photocopy of my passport.

I have a bruise on my left knee, my upper left arm, my right hip my right toes. And I'm sort of sore today.
