She's a beauty. You made a good choice. I'm sorry things didn't work out with Joseph. Sometimes, thing's just ain't meant to be.

I adopted my big, white lug, Sam, almost three years ago. I'd gone to the only shelter in the area I knew of to find my very firstest kitty of my very own. Sam's cage was the first on my left when I walked in and when I saw him I was like 'Whoa! That's one BIG CAT!' because Sam (then Sir Frederick) was not only big-boned, but obese (free feed on dry food in a small cage=fat cats). NO WAY I was going home with that guy! Too big! So I look around the room and settle on a black guy named Alfred. Having made up my mind, I decided to give some lovin' to the rest of the cats in the room. When I took out Sir Fred, that guy started purring like an untuned motor and just totally soaked up every ounce of love and attention I was willing to give him. Suddenly, I saw Big Cat meant Lots to Love and Hug. My mom has always teased me that I'm like Elvira from Tiny Toons, in that I love to hug them and kiss them and love them ALL OVER for ever and ever. heh I don't have the same high mortality and permanant scarring rate associated with the critters I love up that she did, though. ;) I was totally sold on Big Ole Sir Fred then and there. I wondered at first if I'd done the right thing, taking Sir Fred instead of Alfred, but that doubt was quickly laid in the grave and buried six feet under. Sir Fred became Sam Clemens, and then just Sam, and he has been my big, white, lovable boy ever since. He's a perfect fit for me and my lifestyle and my 'hands on' attitude toward loving up critters. I would not trade him for any other cat in the world and there have been several times in the past few years people have said I should give up my pets, since I'm on a very tight budget and pets cost $$. I've told them (in as many words) I'd give up my cats over my cold, dead body (I have two cats). You made the right decision. Enjoy your new princess! *G*
