Sorry, another long entry....

Hello again... I'm afraid - before even writing anything - that I know this will end up long.

Ok. Recap:

So last Thursday, we had class as usual then a group lunch at Dixies on Grand Ave., then Jenny (girl from class) and I met at Caribou (right down the block conveniently) to talk about our presentation of Chapter 10 on Dance the next day.

Then I went home and took a nap because I was so exhausted and woke up in time to get ready to see Carousel at the Southern Theatre. Now that was soooo good! Mostly because Bradley Greenwald and Jennifer Baldwin Peden were the leads and they are always amazing. My god their voices! AND their acting too... oh, so good...

There was also A LOT of dancing! I was really impressed, because it was good! And there were a lot of lifts and stuff, it was great! It was funny I got in the elevator on the way to the theatre and there were a bunch of Bradley fans (mostly middle aged women haha) in there with me, it was cute. We love our local singer/actors.

OK. Moving on. So Friday I had to get to class early because Jenny and I were going to show a bunch of dance clips from all different movies so we had to get everything set up. That went well, everyone liked us best because we showed clips (big surprise).

Then later that day I went over to Julies and we went to the grocery store to get more food for our big Mexican Feast we were going to make that night. OMG. That was fun. And delicious. We made copious amounts of food. We made Chickecn Quesadillas, Beef Nachos, Chicken and Beef Enchiladas, and then Tyler made drinks. It was fabulous.

And we finished all of the food right in time for the new epsiode of Monk, which was before, the new epiose of Pysch!! That was happiness!! God I love that show...

Then came Saturday, another long day. There was a Tango Workshop happening this weekend that my mum was hosting at Four Season's Dance Studio. She brought in 2 guest instructors, Tomas and Noel. They were amazing! Sooooo good and sooo nice!

This was the class schedule for the weekend: (they also did a demo and class Friday night but I didn't go)
Saturday:
12:00-1:30 Paradas & Arranques
2:00-3:30 Cadencias - changes of direction
4:00-5:30 Turns

Sunday:
12:30- 2:00 Milonga
2;30- 4:00 Ganchos and leg wraps

Then 4:30 - 5:30 I had a private lesson with Tomas.

So yea, Saturday was so much fun! I danced with lots of people, learned more. Then after that I had to hurry home because our class was going to see the James Sewell Ballet at 8pm. That was good, the last piece was reallly cool, I'll explain later, it's complicated...

Oh! I forgot! I was in Avalon (this cute little store on Grand Ave.) on Friday and I saw James Sewell and his wife (who also dances in his company) there! I was like whoa! Crazy! He really hasn't changed that much since when he danced in the Nutcracker (Megan he was Drosselmayer for a few years when I was younger).

Anyway and then Sunday I did the rest of the Tango workshop and had my private with Tomas - he is soo good and he is hilarious, especially because he is Argentine (though now he lives in Montreal) so his accent is pretty cute. He is so good though...

And now for Today. I had class in the morning, then at 2pm I had another tango private except this time with Noel (she is reallly good too). So yea, that was fun. And then this Friday I might meet up with Bruce (his wife owns the dance studio and he's an actor/dancer) and we are going to work on tango stuff from the workshop and then he might help me with my monologue for The Tempest.

I still haven't chosen an audition piece for it yet. Ideas...? I don't know if I should do one of Miranda's or Ariel's monologues. And of course, I'm an idiot and I left all my classical monologue books (like my shakespeare one) at school. I did go out a buy a copy of the play though. So yea, the auditions are the first week back at school, like Feb 6,7,8. SO yea... we'll see....

OH! Hah! I completely forgot! Some bad news:
I rear-ended someone on Saturday. My foot slipped and hit the gas and then I didn't hit the break quick enough. The guy was really nice though, he had a truck so he basically had no damage at all, my car however... the hood got pushed up a bit and the right headlight pops out, so yea... THAT sucks a lot. Very inconvenient. Gah!

Tomorrow should be good though, we are going to the Guthrie! So more about that later...

To end, here are some CRAZY dance/acrobatic videos from YouTube. It's this chinese company (Guangzhou Acrobatics Troupe) and the main couple are husband and wife. SHE IS EN POINTE ON HIS HEAD AND TURNING!

The Acrobatic "SWAN LAKE"

Buterfly Lovers

Craziness!! But soo cool.... and beautiful too...

P.S. Quick funny story (especially for Megan):
So when we were at the MIA and in groups, I was with these two girls and one of them asked what year I was and I said I was a sophmore and she asked if I lived in Complex and I said yes and she asked where and I said Gibbs and then the other girl turns and says "i live in Gibbs! What floor are you on?"and I say " 2nd" and she goes "me too!" Anyway turns out they live like right next to CeCe, near the bathrooms, on the other side than us. That's pretty close! Isn't that sad? We didn't even realise we lived on the SAME TINY floor. Yea. That's how good our CF is, and how social I can be. She said she transferred this year though. Haha, ridiculous... and yet I wasn't even that surprised!
