I hope electricians make a lot of money...

Ok, so I really enjoy knowing how things work even if I don't avidly research information related to that frame of mind. I like to learn, build, create. But most of all...I really really like fixing things, making them better...

Being an electrician is not my ideal profession...especially considering that I do *not* enjoy electrocuting myself (even mildly) ...and an electrician has to accept that as a practical inevitability.

Sure, yes, I would *love* to be an actress, not for fame (which I imagine I would abhor) (seriously, a lot of the unglamorous bits actually appeal to me), a voice actress (which it seems you almost have to be famous these days for that too), a turntablist, or a professional muse. None of these, however, are things I am ever likely to be qualified to do well enough to make a decent living at.

But electrical work may allow me to do several things that are important to me...
1. Work with both my hands and my brain.
2. Make a respectable salary
3. Travel
4. Retire comfortably
5. Live somewhere on the west coast
6. Give me a solid basis of knowlege for a couple of hobbies that would be related to my job but allow me creative release.
7. Possibility for "crossover" employment in related professions

Negatives? There are a few.
1. I am afraid of failure
2. Electrocution (not kidding)
3. I would probably need to run my own business for it to be truely profitable..and would have to deal with all the accounting and legal ramifications of same..urg*
4. It may not make as much money as I hope.
5. The issue of health insurance. (See 3 and 4)

I don't know...I've been thinking about this seriously for a few years and it's still up in the air
