Ok, I just...what?
Looking for some cd versions of old albums we used to listen to as kids, I try finding one of my favorites songs...very simple one, short and admittedly more obscure, but sung by Gene Autry so... shouldn't be too hard to find, right? Yeah, not so much.
Instead I discover that the only version of the song I can find is on an album (originally made for release in Japan apparently) by Brave Combo.
Now, I like Brave Combo. No. correction. LOVE Brave Combo; their live performances are dance-orgy-fantastic. If they come though this way again and I miss them, no jar will be large enough to hold my regret. But (for those of you unfamiliar with them) they play polka and ska (among other things I'm sure) and I'm halfway between excited that they've *done* a version and anxious about what they've done *with* it.
Just as surprising (if not more so) is that this album was made in 1992 and the band has been around since 1979 and has quite a few albums out.
EDIT: They are performing in Fort Worth Texas next Friday at 8. Arggghhhhhh!
