I made a cake for my sister using camo and peng'ins as requested. I was dubious of the theme at first but then I ended up taking a lot of pictures of this one because I really liked it.
That is beautiful work. The only way I think it could possibly be more awesome is if you made the cake so it looked like it was a melting iceberg upon which the penguins were trapped.
By the by, how much do you charge for such beautiful work?
Haha...that would be funny. A melting iceburg with trapped peng'ins. I wish I'd thought of that, I so would have done it. A small lopsided top all white with glittery edible dust and penguins all buched together at the low end with eyes wide in fright. Oh...maybe not...awww.. poor peng'ins... haha
Charge? Well that all depends... For an actual purchase?...size, materials, complexity, blah blah blah.
But I seem to recall that *someone* has a birthday coming up here in a couple months. Now, *that* person has a cake coming gratis. All that I need for that one is a theme. Any ideas?
I agree, very cute :) Ooh, OOh! For my birthday (in february, so you've got plenty of time) could you make ME a special cake?! Pretty please? I have NO idea what I'd want to request but we could discuss. PLEEEEEEEASE!!
:) Thank you and yes. And I've *already* got a good idea of what I'm doing with your cake.
I got this idea a couple weeks ago while talking to a friend on the phone and looking at a metal wire fruit basket thingee my sister has on her kitchen counter. I turned it upside down and had a little flash of inspiration. I was very sad for about 2 minutes after describing it because I couldn't think of who the cake could be for. And then I realized; "Hello, duh! this would be perfect for [dreamcatcher3]" At which point I went all "Yay happiness, I get to make the cake!"
But... it's going to be a surprise! (The design, not the cake now obviously) :)

Maybe you should get a job as a baker/cake decorator, or open up your own bakery somewhere.
(I keep reading that as "banker", but that sounds much less fun than baker.)

Really well done...you certainly have developed a talent that I envy. :)

And I can so make you some, or I might try some fondant duckies, or maybe those funny little slugs from "Flushed Away"
