Here is the top of the cake I made in class last week. And there are a couple other pictures of the bottom tier as well.
Today I have taken the day off to bake today's cake, ice it and make the remaining pieces to decorate it. Tomorrow I have a Pooh cake to make to bring to work Thursday for a co-worker's little girl's birthday. This one will be the first cake that I'll get paid outright for...whoo-hoo (and it's by far the easier of the two)
Then I don't have any cakes to make til October! (I think...) I do have some experiments planned though....
Today's cake is all mine this time. I eschewed the usual red velvet/chocolate/white that everyone asks for and even decided against spice or butter pecan in favor of fruit! Strawberry for the bottom tier and lemon for the top. The lemon is baking right now but the strawberry is cooling on the counter...and oh god does it smell divine!
I'd better find something to eat for lunch before I start nibbling on the cake!
