Randomness from an evening listen on the radio

So my livejournal handle is practically part of the lyrics to the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Just add a "G" afore the first i 'cuz they're both pronounced the same.

"The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
of the big lake they call "Gitche Gumee."

itchi-goo-me
Gitchy-goo-me...

In the Ojibwe language, the lake is called "Gichigami" ("big water"), but it is better known as "Gitche Gumee" as recorded by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow in The Song of Hiawatha. and as I'm sure you bards out there were already aware: Lake Superior is referred to as "Gitche Gumee" in the song The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, by Gordon Lightfoot.

Amusingly disconcerting to hear what (sounds like) your (mostly fictional) handle crop up in the midst of a popular folk ballad.
