Ok, so after almost two full months of shorting myself sleep, eating junk and only sporadically taking my vitamins, this poor mortal coil became too week to defend itself from invading bacteria and finally succumbed to the plague on the 25th.
It started innocently enough with it's general malaise and nausea but by tuesday it had blossomed into (what I believe was) a full blown sinus infection. My ears and soft palatte hurt the worst, but my entire head was swollen and feverish, my throat was dry and slightly sore, I was frequently dizzy and my arms and legs felt quivery as when fatigue sets in. Even though I do not normally call in sick to work...I so would have
BUT
Unfortunately, Tuesday was also my first day at my new job and even if they did not require us to be there for EVERY DAY of training, I would still need the ENTIRE two weeks to absorb all the material. It's Insurance definitions and applications, homeowner and monoline policies, automobile policies, coverages, exclusions, and LAW for insurance and there is a lot of material to cover if I am going to be able to pass that liscensing test, so yeah...
And I'm JUST starting, so even though health care starts with day one, they don't use United Health Care (which is what I had before and am familiar with), and after about 8 hours or so of trying desperately to remain awake and functional enough to comprehend and memorize insurance info, I am in no condition to continue the task (abeit in a different vein) at home.
It gets better.
Friday I am feeling abjectly miserable because I am now on DAY3 of the plague and it has been getting progressively worse. To compound the problem, not only do I miss breakfast, I also do not have time for lunch since I have to run to the bank during my lunchbreak to deposit a check and get a money order for rent which happens to be due the same day. And I have a date later this evening... which I kind of hadn't wanted to go to in the first place and ended up cancelling.
On SATURDAY frenchcelt was coming through here on his way up to his relatives, and I hadn't looked up any local events to go to because I had initially planned for us to wander leisurely along the canal since it is picturesque and has plenty of places to stop at. BUT, between the opressive humidity, and my still sickly condition, I gave it up altogether as a bad option without having an alternative, and being ill I was rather poor company, even for me.
Sunday I was still miserable and still downing sinus medication and vitamins along with copius amounts of juice. I slept late and went to bed early...sunday was mostly a blur...
And FINALLLY ...This morning, my throat was still slightly sore and I had a bit of a headache, but I KNEW that whatever illness had overtaken me had finally run it's course and I was merely feeling the after effects. I had one final sinus tablet this afternoon and now I feel fabulous! (Admittedly a little fatigued still, but even so...)
Hallelujah!!
