I decided to walk into the career fair I saw they were having at the student center, despite not having a resume on hand or business attire. I heard that the FBI and CIA like to hire people who are good at foreign languages, and the FBI guy was really encouraging. He even said "you could even apply to be a special agent after working with us for 3 years" and I was like "oh I'm sure I could never..."
but then I thought about it some more. wouldn't it be hilarious and awesome if I was an FBI agent? rofl
the only issue I have so far is that all the government websites are terribly convoluted and it's hard to get to what it is I have to do to apply. I told them that, since I had already seen the websites and they seemed confused, and said that I must have been looking at the wrong pages, because their own websites are supposed to be easy to use. hmmm
I dunno if I would necessarily sell my soul to the federal government, but I'm ready to be open-minded to anything that really uses my talents and skills. I talked with someone from Career Services who told me about what they can do for me as far as turning all of my skills and experiences into something marketable and desirable to employers that I could actually be interested in. I can't wait to go, because this will probably make me feel a hundred times better about graduating.
