[o28] Wednesday: collective nouns: convention of tongues
Rumors tend to amuse her more than anything else. You hear a lot of strange things on Earth, never mind the Nexus. The stuff some people come up with -- the ideas their fans toss around and sometimes actually pass on, hoping for answers...
Like the one about how Odeon's face ended up where it is -- according to some stories, he caught a really bad cold and sneezed so much his antenna swelled and his face kept moving up, up, up. Or how Fujio's mustache is actually a prank gone bad: somebody didn't realize the pen had permanent ink. Then there's the stories about the Prince not having any cousins at all, and he just changes outfits... that one fell by the wayside a long time ago, but there's still a few stragglers who cling to it.
The ones about Velvet amuse her the most. She still smiles just thinking about that old claim that Velvet didn't have any legs, that she only just grew them recently -- or better yet, they're actually detachable. Or those silly stories about how her haughty cousin's singlehandedly responsible for most UFO sightings...
She knows some of the others don't like the gossip -- Velvet's particularly nasty about it; she's heard stories about how coldly the little ice princess reacts to any mention of the latest rumors in her presence. Ichigo isn't anything like her, of course. Whenever a fan gets up the courage to ask, she just smiles and gives a perfect non-answer. It's fun keeping them guessing, and she's even helped start a few rumors of her own...
