First of all I'd like to give the cast of Gilbert Grape a BIG HUGE おつかれさま

The flyer I got at the theatre

Yesterday maked the last show of this one month long play.

I went to see it on Feb 20th. (In which two Kanju's were in attendence after reading Maru's blog)
Although I was disappointed by the fact that I didn't get a pamphlet I really really enjoyed this show. The rustics of it.

Unlike other stage shows I've seen where everything was so high tech this show was very analoged in the sense that the actors themselves were responsible for moving the props around.
The lighting was kind of dark and from the X row it was sometimes hard to make out Maru's face and expressions (despite having binoculars).

Nakao Akiyoshi did a GREAT job as Arnie. I never knew he was such a good actor. And of course Maru-chan. He did a superb job as Gilbert. (There were some very exaggerated scenes but I guess maybe he just had to do it that way ~ Who knows what the director was thinking when he directed Maru-chan to bawl like that) Towards the end of the show, the tears would not stop flowing. (I am TOTALLY getting old I swear ~ So much more emotional now)

At curtain call ~ Of course Maru-chan got the loudest clap ~ But he totally deserved it. Maru gave Akiyoshi a big huge hug after the show too. And after the third on stage bow ~ Maru-chan reverted back to Maru-chan with a sweet adorable smile and waved at the fans.

It's too bad this show will never been on DVD ~ But despite that I hope Maru does some kind of butai or drama again. Though hoping this time if he's in a drama I hope they give him something else. As cute and adorable Maru-chan is in cute comedy dramas, I would like to see him in a serious drama.

Another HUGE おつかれさま to the cast and dancers of 早乙女太一 特別公演.

Yesterday was also the last show for this fantabulous show. (In which I saw three times XD)

A Koichi fan friend of mine joined me for one show on Saturday evening after I was able to get cheaper tickets because I was  a repeater at this show. (And she has always wanted to see him after seeing him in a magazine)

For the first two shows I saw it from the 10th row on the first floor. I was pretty dead centre so had a good view. But with her we sat on the second floor 4th row. It was nice to see the show from a different angle.  I had brought my binoculars of course and said if she ever wanted to borrow it just tap me. Well I never got my binoculars back until the end of the show. (Oh well it's alright ~ I'd seen it twice already ~ Besides you don't get a good look at Taichi until you leave the theatre)

When we were having dinner she was saying how she couldn't take her eyes off of him. He was just so beautiful. Than when Taichi was greeting the theatre goers at the end of the show, she commented that if it weren't for people behind us pushing she would have stood there for a long time cause she was so mezmorized by his eyes. (Well he ain't called the 流し目王子 for nothing ~ Guess you would translate it as the Sexy Eyed Prince) Than she was like ''I finally know why you have seen his show so many times''.

I have now successfully corrupted her!!! WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
We will try to get tickets to his special play in Kyoto in June. So happy I now have someone to go to Taichi shows with me!

At kipani_mariko I controlled myself. Didn't attack Taichi from the 10th row and even more difficult to attack him from the second floor. And I also didn't ''accidentally'' fall into him when he was in the lobby greeting the theatre goers.

But if Taichi is having a show in Tokyo on a Monday and I am free and so are you. I am TOTALLY making you come with me.

Now I will be in an ikemen drought until March 19th. XD

I'm looking forward to seeing this show on March 19th.
