A Lot To Learn
It's been bugging him for days, ever since Goto spoke to Sakurai about rejecting Tsunami. He wasn't sure he understood then, but watching Sakurai constantly watching Tsukioka, things start to click for Goto. He follows Sakurai's line of sight to where Tsukioka is practicing a few steps across the stage, and he can't help blurting it out.
"You love him, don't you," Goto says, before he can stop himself.
Sakurai gives him an odd look, but he clearly knows what Goto is talking about. "Of course," he replies easily, and turns back in time to watch Tsukioka give a little twist of his hips.
On second thought, that was a stupid question.
"Wait," Goto backtracks. "That's not what I meant to say. I mean, you're in love with him."
Now Sakurai's expression closes down into that hard-to-read blankness that Goto is only starting to get used to. He doesn't meet Goto's eye. "Yes."
Goto's breath catches in his throat. He wasn't expecting Sakurai to actually agree.
"Ah. Sakkun… Does Tsuki-chin know?"
"Yes."
Goto twitches in shock. "Eh!? But…" He pauses to think for a moment, unsure of what to say. "I can't imagine that Tsuki-chin would ever reject you," he says softly. "It's obvious that he loves you back."
Sakurai turns his blank stare on Goto and Goto realizes that it's not so blank after all. There's just a hint of amusement in his eyes. Goto wishes Sakurai wasn't so difficult to read.
"Who says he rejected me?" Sakurai's voice is light.
"But." Goto stops, considering, and comes to the same conclusion. "But you share a bed! And you never…" he trails off as Sakurai's amusement becomes more obvious.
"We've been on a lot of tours," Sakurai explains, very calmly and with not a hint of embarrassment. "We know how to be quiet."
Goto looks at him in shock. "You-"
Sakurai nods his head toward Tsukioka, who's in the middle of a move that has him dropping to his knees to writhe on the stage. "You know how they always tell Rin to move like he's heard of sex?"
Goto nods.
"Well," Sakurai continues, "there's a reason Tsuki-chin's our best dancer."
He grins as Goto's eyes widen even more.
"He's not as innocent as you think." Sakurai's smirk is plainly visible and Goto kind of wants to drop through the floor. He'd thought their playful touches and looks were just an ME thing, just another way of joking around. But then, he thinks, as he watches one of the WHY NOT? members slide a hand across his bandmate's hip in passing, maybe he just has a lot to learn about his new company.
