It's my birthday, time to get productive!
I spent the better part of time after Christmas being sick, complete with calling out of work twice in a week due to a relapse, so I've not gotten much of anything accomplished. (I did level and evolve some of my Pokémon party in White 2, so..yay?) It just so happened that I got today, my birthday, off, and what with morning plans changing, I had time on my hands to do fun things. Like try out my sewing machine.
Oh. I got a new sewing machine recently. Sort of a late Christmas/early birthday present to myself, mainly because I know I'll be filing taxes soon. So, yay for windfalls? Anyway, it's a lot nicer than my previous one, but we need to have some serious bonding time. So, what better time than after getting a request to make a winged white ferret?
Yes, you read that right. A previous Etsy customer loved the critters she got for friends (and one for herself when I traded it for an awesome cookie recipe), so she thought to ask me the other day if it would be possible to make a plush version of an in-joke with a friend. So, a white winged ferret came into being:
What's sort of funny about this is on the day I make this, I had a last-minute get together with some friends and their friends at Red Robin, in which the friend of a friend asked if I could sew a winged red panda. (What's with all the wings?) So, soon I need to make a winged red panda plush for some more money making as well.
And that's how I spent my birthday! I have to work early tomorrow, but I'm hoping afterword to get serious about drafting out and testing a pattern for a Worg/Werewolf/Whatever. I also want to stray a bit into heraldic animals and make an Alphyn. Maybe one of these days.
