Red teardrops slid down the smooth face of the wide blade, weeping in vain for something he could not prevent. Helpless in the face of his own sin. Death was only a breath away.
...say goodnight, say goodbye...just between you and i...all dreams must die...don't you cry...
His smile glinted in the dark, victorious and consuming. White cloth lay discarded on the cold ground, lifeless but warm. She was quiet, so quiet when his laughter rang out.
"There is no need for such a crippling weakness. She was holding us back, Ichigo, from realizing out true power. She had to go..."
Love chained him inside where he didn't belong, thought the hollow. Love made Ichigo stronger than he ever thought possible. So he murdered love. Laughter bubbled derived from satisfaction.
"Rukia's gone. you're mine now, Ichigo. That's how it was meant to be..."
And Ichigo wept, trapped in a place where the rain never ceased to end. The hollow had won, and he had lost Rukia.
