I have a question!
What EXACTLY is a "classical singer"?
An opera singer?
A non-pop/non-rock singer?
A singer who has been trained classically?
A showtunes/musical singer?
All four? All four and more? None of these? Only one? Two? Three?
I've been wondering this for a while. Not to get into the whole Emmy-thing again, but ever since I saw people say she wasn't a classical singer, I've been wondering what exactly the term referred to.
Haley Westenra, is she a classical singer?
What about Kristin Chenoweth? Idina Menzel? Etc...?
*Doesn't want to continue misusing the term if she's been doing that*
Speaking of Emmy, I'm getting tired of seeing her negatively mentioned everywhere. I was on phanwank (I don't really approve of making fun of bad phics, but at least they're more funny than cruel), and I see people mentioning thier distaste for her. Wtf? What does that have to do with anything? Can we not bring this into other communities/forums/topics of conversation, people? Let it go. -.-;
I need to catch up on my reading...D:. I'm so lazy XD;;.
I find it really humorous how most movies portray opera in 2-D, with the flat sets and the women's skirts that are 6 in. wides and 7 feet long. What's up with that? XD
classical singers,
2-d opera,
emmy,
annoying ot-ness
