Dream #2 - No Regret On Her Face

Jul 22, 2011 02:33

There was the sound of cicadas and the sea, both of which were a kind of comfort in the quiet night. She was staring up at the moon, and listened to the complete lack of humanity... feeling as if an adequate punishment for something she'd done wrong. To be severed of all her ties to others.

"Doesn't matter how old I am, huh?" The elderly male voice came out of seemingly nowhere to her. "Saying something like that to an old man just to show him a dream... Mugiawara no niichan, you're quite the scoundrel." There wasn't enough of an echo to be an enclosed area... Her mind immediately started going into analytical mode, then it snapped out.

"Indeed." It was her own voice!

The man then made a muffled sound, seemingly in her direction, but she couldn't catch it.

"There once was a woman wishing for death. Yet that Captain saved her of his own accord." Her ears rung with the long, lingering sound of a massive bell.

"Isn't it good that she's alive?" The man asked pleasantly.

"Well, I'm not sure yet..." She couldn't help but wonder if that truly meant...

"You don't regret it," the elder said simply. There was a small gasp doubled, but he continued. "I can see it on your face. SSSSH, your future is just starting."

It was in that moment that the the moon shifted colors, then the shape literally started melting away, down, down, down... into her mouth! She could feel it, taste it, and then she started coughing...

[[OOC: This scene is taken from Episode 137 of the One Piece anime, and I'm pretty sure it's filler, but it's one of the many little scenes that made me want to take Robin from her anime incarnation in the first place.]]
