... And then the universe reasserted itself in a cruel and horrible way.

Remember how happy I was yesterday?? As well as saying that today (Monday) would prolly balance all that 'OMJHELLYESYAAAAAAAAAY!' out?

I really really REALLY wish I was wrong.

It started of normal enough: stupid early start, boring-ish lecture and then the tutorial after that.

The tutorial where me and my group would have to present our assignment to everyone. That really should have tipped me off. Seriously.

In the past, lectures have said 'I told you to do a powerpoint presentation? Well of course you can use my laptop, go right ahead so we can get this done with'. Our current lect. conveniently forgot to tell us that it's apparently uni policy to NOT let students use their lect's computers.

Needless to say, none of the six of us had brought our own laptop. Hell, most of us don't even own a damn laptop.

Thankfully one of the mature age students, Jo, (one of the few who don't think that they know everything just because their older) had hers in her car and lent it to us.

Unfortunately, Jo-san's laptop was not hooked up to the uni's internet system. My entire assignment was based on an online video segment that needed to be viewed by the others, else I couldn't do my presentation. So my lect. told me that I could be loaned a laptop from the uni which is already connected to their internet branch. I was passed between a few places before I ended up at Student Central where the awesomely understanding guy rang up the people in charge of that for me. The conversation on his end went something like this:

"Do we still loan out laptops to education students? .... no? ..... well that was a quick and simple answer."

Apparently they stopped this system, which had worked well for ages, at the start of the semester and neglected to inform the staff.
So I went back all defeated like, ready to breakdown if I couldn't get my damn mark and presentation done and ARGH! T_T

Thankfully, lect. got over her 'I-must-listen-to-uni-policy' mindframe and just lent me her own damn laptop which was already hooked up to the uni's internet branch. Why she didn't get over it before is beyond me.

After a few more technical fails and OMJWHYWON'TTHEDAMNTHINGWORK?!?!?! and I got my part done.

So........

How was your Monday morning?

technology fails., logic, rant, lectures & classes, mondays. how i hate them so, uni, beyond bad, quit, balancing it out - the wrong way, assignment, fail, morning
