A time to live, a time to sleep

QOTD: "Poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese."

I forgot to mention that the beginning of this week was very nice weather here. We had foggy mornings and highs in the mid-70s. It was absolutely wonderful.

I've been researching family genealogy just recently and am profoundly frustrated at my dad's side of the family for their inability to keep simple family records. Knowledge of the family before my grandfather on that side simply isn't anywhere. I'll have to look elsewhere. However, in my searching I came across the family heraldry again, which I'd never paid very much attention to i the past. The family motto apparently actually is, "Non sufficit orbis," or, roughly, "The world is not enough." However, I'm having trouble finding an accurate depiction of what the full coat of arms consists of. There are some consistencies, such as a silver field, a chevron, and three of some kind of gold circular charges on the chevron. The earliest version I can find has a crescent at the top of the chevron, which makes it seem very similar to the Earth origin symbol from Stargate, but the crescent isn't present in any other depictions. Also, in all of the versions I've found, the chevron is black, but in a book my parents have, it's red. And instead of the usual bezants, rings are shown in my parents' version. There also seems to be inconsistency concerning the animal positioned above the shield. Traditionally it seems to be a seated lion, but I've also seen winged horses, among other things. The discrepancies could be from changes down the family line, but I don't see how there's any way to immediately determine what's accurate for me to identify with or what's been certified as correct. Alack.

I got some laundry done today but not much. I also didn't get my car washed. Tomorrow, perhaps. I woke up after 2PM today. I don't think I've been to bed before 1AM since last Wednesday, but I can't say I regret it. Apparently I did need the sleep, though. Did the tea trade thing with my mom today. She got fish hook and I got spiced green. Not sure who came out on top on that one. I need to order some more tea. I need more green jasmine from Numi, but I don't want to order just that, even though I really enjoy it and I probably drink it the most. Numi's giving away a tea trip for two to China for 2009, so I think I'll enter that. I saw it and was actually kind of excited about it. A trip I actually want to go on? You can't possibly be serious. Of course I don't know a lick of Chinese, and that's fairly annoying.

I'm taking next Friday off. You can't stop me.
