No other store could've had customers today

QOTD: “... Gave it to a charity for children without guns. Did you know, there are children on the streets of America who have no guns? There are children going to school without guns. It's not safe.”

We got so slammed today at work. I actually had three people ask me a question at the same time today. And of course, they were all at difference distances, so no one knew that I was dealing with two other people. There were only two of us in Tech, one person in Entertainment and NO ONE in Merch until about 1:00. Friggin insane. Then Dave went to lunch, leaving me alone and our PC Tech was out on a home install. That left two people manning the entire store. Managers were getting trapped with customers on the sales floor, which I found to be delightful. Our warehouse guy was out on the floor. And I think half of Camp Shelby showed up to shop.

Before it got too crazy, I helped a mom and son buy a laptop for him to go to school with. Now, I see some people in the course of my day, but this blond 18yo ambrosia was about the nicest looking thing I've seen in Hattiesburg. From my own set of personal qualifiers, of course. I mean, damn. That level of allure is just uncalled for. That shouldn't be allowed to roam freely in a civilian population. I made sure his laptop setup was done early. Kinda hoped he'd have been back before I'd left. I need to get like a Sony T7 just to carry in my pocket for instances like that. I mean... fuck.

Overall, customers were pretty decent given our shocking lack of staff. We're still rotating our inventory and our memory cards and batteries still haven't gotten back out onto their displays on the sales floor just yet. Lots to do. Got paid today. Got paid a lot more than I was expecting. This is not a good thing. Given my propensity for breaking even, that means I'll have just enough to clear my bills and almost enough to clear outstanding balances, but next pay cycle I'm going to be so screwed it won't be funny. I think I'm going to have to do like Alan did last week and start applying PTO to my days off so that I can just make ends meet. Will have to talk to PhotoArts about employment. 22 hours a week for a fulltime position is fucked up. That won't cut it. Gotta go back over to work so that I can drop off the key I accidentally took home.

Capture the Flag tonight.
