Habituality

It seems like I have so many things that need to be done. I have so many little projects of my own and things that needed to be mailed weeks ago that I need to really crack down on. Got my adjusted electricty bill in the mail. Not as bad as I thought it'd be. Got some money from my grandparents, too. Funny how those checks seemed like so much when I was younger; now they don't even make a dent in just one of my bills. I felt fairly productive at work today aside from the fact that we were nightmarishly understaffed. If you're looking for work, apply at Circuit City. I'm serious. They're hiring. Really hiring. Tonight it was just me and a new guy for the last four hours. It wasn't as bad as it could've been. I've only got 28 hours this week, but I'm expecting overtime next week. Madness.

I remembered something that I was going to write about several weeks ago but I think I forgot about. I was driving up Hwy. 49 and I was stopped at the Hardy Street light. I was looking in my rearview mirror at the people in the car behind me. There was an older woman, the mother, I believe, in the passenger seat, and a younger girl driving. The mother was looking forward and said what looked like a series of sentences, after which the girl just turned her head and almost angrily stared at her like she was completely out of her mind. It was really, really funny.

I forgot to but a watermelon today when I stopped at Wal-Mart. I've stopped even looking at how much I spend on food. That's not a good habit, but it does relieve the stress in my life considerably.

Alan got promoted to Tech today, which means we won't be able to coordinate our lunches any more. It's good for him, though, because it's a pay raise and he's been there longer than I have. Maybe I'll get a raise when evaluations come around. I'm not sure I deserve one, but I could always put one to good use. so many things to pay for. School loans will be coming in soon. Jesus. I'm trying to balance out my monies, but it's really difficult right now. I just realized this morning that I used my Vista Visa card for the first time when I was in Vicksburg. There's over $100 on that card. Most of this stuff isn't due until next month, but that doesn't matter. $100 on the Visa, $600 on the Discover, $160+ on the Mastercard, $135 for electricity, $355 for next month's rent, $82 for cable this month. Ergh. The rent and DC will take an entire month's pay, more or less. Strife.

Must remember to tape House tomorrow night. The Mormons will likely show up in the middle of it.

Oh, and it's about time Texas got hit by a hurricane. You gotta pay your taxes if you wanna live on the Coast. You get 'em, Rita!
