QOTD: "Oh, YEAH!" - Kool-Aid Man
Had yesterday off. Was good. Slept in [shock], and called Don when I go up. I caught up with him around 3ish. Got him his shoes back, which he had forgotten about. We went and checked out the hurricane damage to the house he's working on buying. Looks like a nice place. Went back to his place and watched some of the Olympics. Don cooked hamburgers for me and his roommate Warner. Watched Lilo & Stitch with Don. Don was pretty busy with trying to get all of his pieces in place for locking in rates for his mortgage on top of dealing with repair times and appraisals relating to the hurricane damage. We were thinking about going to one of the parks for one of the night shows, but the weather conditions were, as Disney says, "inclement." I don't think I was a very good guest... not very lively and all that, but I only take partial blame. Why? Because I'm good at justifying myself. I think being here at Disney and interacting with the people that I am is really helping me refocus who I am, how I act, who I want to be, and how I want to get there. There have been a lot of things that I've realized are more true than I thought they were... just things I've known for a while but really haven't given enough credit to.
Talked to a friend of Karl's last night while she was over. She'd been over here before, but Karl's had so many girls over, I don't bother to keep track at all. She played DDR when she was over last and had a pretty good time of it. We hit it off really well last night. She said she wanted to go get sushi some time because she hadn't had it in a while. I expressed similar feelings, then gave her coupons to the sushi place she mentioned wanting to go to. I think I instantly made a friend in that split second. Major rapport building through the whole conversation. Felt kind of bad because I practically blocked out Karl's interaction with her, but oh well. I need friends more than he does. Chad arrived yesterday and I went over to his place. He lives in Chatham AND has a vehicle, so he's definately my best friend for the next four or five months. His roommates seemd very, very fratlike, which no doubt pleases him beyond comprehension. He also mentioned a guy from New Jersey he met that he claims matches my perameters (so to speak) for the kind of guy I'm looking for. From some of the background I've been given, I'm hopeful but very skeptical. Should be interesting, nonetheless. Chad is working Operations/Attractions in Adventureland/Liberty Square of MK, so I figure he'll either get Jungle Cruise or Pirates of the Carribean. I think he'd be perfect for Jungle Cruise, despite the memorization required, so I hope he gets that. He'll find out today. Will probably talk to him sometime either before his VistaFCU orienation or maybe before he heads out to PI. Tonight is the last Thursday before the Spring Advantage CPs go home and the first Thursday that the Fall CPs are here, so it should be packed tonight.
I think I'm going to go walk to Publix and get the last ingredient for some bread I've been trying to get all the components for since about two weeks ago. As of today I have 1/4 of the money I need to have to accomplish what I need to accomplish at the close of the WDWCP. Hmm. I need to make some calls, I guess. In other news, I don't think the skin on my arms has been this tanned since fourth grade. And that's with SPF30 every day.
Disney trivia for the day: Realize you need a haircut just as you get to the Magic Kingdom? No problem. There is an actual barber shop in the Town Square of Main Street USA, between the Car Barn and the Emporium.
