The clarinet prof from Western just called and asked if I would attend their summer camp because they need bass clarinets. He said that he would give me a scholarship. I'm actually considering it because it would be really good if I was really going to apply to the school of music. BUT, I wouldn't want to play on bass clarinet. I don't even HAVE a bass clarinet. If I did it, I would either have to use one of Western's bass clarinets or ask Mr. Hourigan if I could use the school's. I don't know why he would let me. It's from mid July to the end of July. Lots of time. I would agree to it if they told me I could study on clarinet and just do concerts on bass clarinet or something.
Okay! So senior skip day wasn't a total waste like I had been expecting. We went to the mall and then the movies and then I went to my lesson and then meijer and now I'm here. I like days like this where I'm expected to do nothing and I just relax.
I had to leave my tenor for repairs because the whole right hand is messed up. He's not going to charge us, since he just completely restored it. I can practice on the alto in the meantime. But I mean, come on. Could the timing be any worse? I guess it's better to get it over with now than to audition on a broken instrument.
Oh, and at my lesson, I played my audition pieces for my teacher and he was like, "If they don't accept you, there must be something wrong with them." I messed up A LOT though. I guess he figures I'll get it worked out by the time my audition comes. Which is right. I do intend to work my butt off. I really have to sight read. I need to learn to get in sax mode. Sometimes I'm playing something and I start doing clarinet fingerings. The other day, I was playing my tenor music on the clarinet, which should have been easy since I'm better at the clarinet, and I could barely do it because I kept fingering notes that weren't there.
Unforgettable, that's what you are.
I can't believe I just wrote that much about THAT. What a TOOL!!
Mykee better come to my freaking grad party!!
