More fun for everyone...
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions and leave the answers as comments on my LJ.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions
Ian's Questions To Me:
1) So, you're a teacher's education major... why did you choose that as your major?
2) Have you personally accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour? If so, when did you do so, and was it something of great significance towards you?
3) What other schools did you look at besides North Central? Why did you end up going there?
4) If you could meet someone, living or dead, who would it be and why?
5) What is the aspect of music you feel is the most important and why?
My Answers:
1 - i believe this is my ministry. i want to help as many people as i can, and i'm good at teaching. i read "my posse don't do homework" (which was later turned into a movie most ppl know as 'dangerous minds') and i was inspired (at hte age of 11ish) that the way God could use me best was as a teacher to inner city kids. i wanted to teach speech or theatre or soemthing easy like that, but history is ok so far.
2 - from what i remember, i accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior around the age of 6 or 7. i re-committed every time we had a church musical - those little speeches with music at the end always got me. =) i was baptized between 4th and 5th grade, and while i have had my ups and downs, i firmly believe that my name is written in the Book of Life and that He'll never let me go. (fyi - right now i'm up with my faith)
3 - i looked at Wheaton. and they didn't accept me. so NCC was the only college i was accepted into. made my decision that much easier... really though, i didn't apply to many b/c i knew i wanted a small school nearby with good education and music programs. not many options there.
4 - oh geez - talk about college apps, this was a question at my interview for a scholarship... then i chose Charles Dickens - i was trying to be creative... bah. i dunno, i would chose one of 3 people: my grandmother on my mom's side, my mom's middle sister (she's the youngest), or my oldest sibling. they all died before i was born. my sibling was an abortion so i don't even know if it was a sister or a brother. i can't wait to get to heaven and meet them...
5 - the power of music to tug at our souls. uniting words we wouldn't be able to phrase any other way with beauty incarnate to dig deep and affect us on a level that nothing else can. i see music as one of the integral thigns of beauty God left on earth to bring us to Him.
So, everybody and anybody who wants to be interviewed - or wants to interview me - comment, post, respond...
ok - peace out - ttyl
