Update
Yeah no. So. I haven't been around in awhile. I know that. This has been a rough year emotionally, and promises to get only moreso in less than a month. So, here's a quick rundown update.
1. As some of you know, I went back to Michigan at the beginning of the year to move my mother into assisted living. That's a long tale in itself. She is doing fine there, but not thriving and is pretty unhappy. After much discussion, Dino and I decided that for quality of life and financial reasons, we will move her up here to Alaska to live with us. I've had to do some wrangling of legal paperwork, because Mom is currently a ward of Kent County in Michigan, to petition to become her guardian and get permission to move her out of the state. Our hearing is finally set for October 30. I'll be flying down next weekend to spend the week getting her and her cat ready to move. If all goes well, we'll fly back to Alaska on November 1.
2. I'm not happy about this, but it was what I probably should of done in the first place. It was selfish of me to leave her in Michigan.
3. There's a bunch of stuff hurting me right now, and some of those things are part of the reason why I haven't had the heart or interest in livejournal/dreamwidth. But they are not to be talked about. I'm not trying to be all passive aggressive here, I just want people to know there are reasons for me being anti-social and that I'm not just being a dick.
4. I guess this will crosspost back to livejournal, because that seems to be the thing to do now. I am getting sick of having to learn new platforms just to stay in touch with people. Dreamwidth crapped out on porting all my livejournal stuff over, so that doesn't make me love it much. And, I swear, if one more person tells me to go to their Instagram if I want to see their pictures, I'm going to throw the computer out the window.
