We're having a wind storm right now. The Alaska weather sites are saying wind gusts up to 85 mph in the Hillside and Turnagain Arm areas, and guess where our house sits? Right between them. The power has been flickering alot, and the house really shaking and rattling. We have those kinds of windows that you use a little lever to push outward, and the one here in the computer room was just yanked out by the wind so hard that the level broke and the window went flying all the way open. I had to go outside to push the window shut, and the wind was incredible. It's just roaring out there and was so strong that at one point I pressed myself against the side of the house to resist the pull of it. Oceans of leaves are flowing up and down the street, and I mean oceans. There's so many leaves blowing around out there all I saw was yellow waves, couldn't see the road at all. And all the trash we put out last night for pick-up this morning is all up and down the road, along with everyone elses.
Since the power is flickering, I'm shutting down the computer. Dino's asleep - dead to the world and snoring, he didn't even wake up when the window broke, and that was really loud, nor did he wake up when I was wrestling to get the door open and closed when I went out. But I don't know how well I'm going to sleep with all the noise. Roaring gusts and occasionally the sound of things hitting the house (branches and such, I imagine).
