Dino has kept me busy running around since Friday afternoon, so I've only had time to look at the computer here and there in between everything else. This is very frustrating, because I had a lot of Sims stuff I wanted to do this weekend, not to even mention getting online and actually being social! But alas... And today I have most of the day set aside to write my first major English paper of the semester, so here I am in the wee hours of the morning, trying to get done what I can. And this is one of the things I didn't want to leave until later.
Folks have been doing some photoshoot exchanges the last few days, and here's my half of the exchange with
laridian. Her request was for my Eridanos kids to engage in some anime, which was a challenge I could not resist. Don't know that it turned out anime so much as fantasy, but I did give it a good try. Finding anime related outfits for Sim teenagers is a lesson in pulling hen's teeth! And even more so for what I wanted to do with Ripp.... *snickers*
(Note to Laridian: I was torn between the two choices you gave me, and I may actually do the other too if I have some extra time, because those two in my 'digital smut' icon are my all-time favorite Simmies and RP characters, and it has been a very long time since I've played with them.)
Oh, and it should be noted that this little story occurs ENITRELY outside of Eridanos canon! Otherwise I think Ripp would probably find some way to become tangible so that he could strangle me in my sleep. Anyway, without further ado--
One day, Ripp was wandering around in the yard, looking for something to do to avoid the long list of chores that the General had given him, when he unexpectedly came across a little purple dragon out by the obstacle course.
"What the hell is this?" he pondered perplexedly.
"Oh, thank goodness I've finally found you!" squeaked the tiny dragon. "At last I can return you to your true land and your true self!"
"Uhm... what? HEY!" Ripp yelled as he was engulfed suddenly by an intense light and the sensation of being dissassembled and spread out atom by atom across the universe, which instantly brought up severe nausea in his stomach. "Wait! What's this, what's going on, AAGGHH!!!"
Hyuk... thought the little dragon.
As Ripp rematerialized, he found himself in one of those magical nexxuses between worlds. You know, the kind that always seems to be cluttered with junk and sparkly. The dragon was there too.
"Now," the dragon began. "From this nexxus point on the far side of the moon of Inexplicably Barren Planet with Mysterious Ruins, you will be able to fulfill your ultimate destiny. Embrace your Pure Heart and submit yourself to my teachings and I will train you to become the most powerful - - "
"Wait a minute!" Ripp interrupted with a shriek. "What the hell?! I have ears and a fox tail and..... I'M A GIRL!!! Why am I a girl?!"
"Yes, well..." the dragon cleared his throat, looking sheepish. "Odd things sometime happen when one passes through to the Nexxus...."
"Look," Ripp snarled. "I don't know what you might think, but I can assure you that I'm really not into this kind of thing. Just because I get a little attracted to boys sometimes...."
"A little?" the dragon snorted.
"Alright, shut up! Just change me back into a boy!" Ripp was in full rant mode and highly uncomfortable with the implications of his transformation.
Hyuk... thought the little dragon again, but was smart enough to not let his amusement show, lest Ripp make a wallet out of him. "I can't. But perhaps with the help of your trusted companions, you'll be able to find a way to change yourself back. Now, be quiet a minute and listen."
"Fine fine...." Ripp growled.
"Before you is the Magical Shrub of Inge, which you can use to summon your companions - the angsty one, the bubbly one, and the... uhm... other angsty one," the dragon explained. "Simply click on the Shrub and select your companions from the pie menu."
Ripp, displaying every bit of the extreme reluctance he was famous for, did as he was instructed. A few twinkling heartbeats later, there was a flash and his first companion had arrived - the CyberAngel - Master of the Despondant Dark and Champion of the mysterious realm of Angenehme Ansicht (*player trips and falls over her horribly rusty German and resorts to using Google*).
Ooo... thought Ripp, heart not so Pure as it should have been. Now, that might be worth being a girl for...
The next companion to arrive was Kairi - Painfully Typical High School Girl with Weirdly Colored Hair. She was, of course, ever bubbly, optimistic and cheerful. She was also Ripp's best and most loyal friend, willing to follow him into any danger, to be an extreme liability and to get herself kidnapped by the bad guys on a regular basis. Plus, she seemed to be blissfully and unrealistically unaware of the fact that he was now a Magical Kitsune Girl with ears and a tail.
The third companion to appear was - -
"Oh hell no! Don't you dare rope me into this nonesense!"
Uhm.... okay, Dominic darling. ^^;;; Why don't you just go sit and watch for the time being?
"Damn right I will."
XD *ahem!* Anyway....
"The first thing that you have to do," the dragon informed the companions once they were all more or less gathered, "is take promotional pictures for all the merchandise we'll be licensing!"
Despite grumbling about how his companions were suppose to be helping him change back into a boy, Ripp didn't seem terribly adverse to getting a few snape-shots. First of all, of course, he had to pose with his best friend.
And then there had to be the required shot of the angsty blonde pretty boy loner.
"You know," the CyberAngel pointed out, "Ripp and 'Kairi' are true to their normal characters, why not me? I'm not really the angsty pretty boy loner type, so what the hell?"
Yeah, I know Dustin but... well, someone had to do it and Dominic absolutely refused... ^^;;;; Just... try to go with it, okay? Pleeeease?
"Alright, alright. But don't think I'm not going to make him pay for this later. I'm suppose to be a hero-type, not the brooding angel-type!"
Fine, whatever you want! Just pose!
*weary sigh* Lovely, I've completely lost my narrative here... *scrambles to get back on track*
Since Ripp was a girl anyway, and therefore there was less of a chance of 'CyberAngel' slugging him, he sneakily thought this might be the perfect opportunity for a litte unPureness. Though they both put on a pretty good show of being adverse (Ripp: "No, it's the player's idea, I swear!"), it was pretty apparent that neither of them were too reluctant to share the camera for a moment. Plus, the player didn't mind a little fan-service of her very own.
After that, the little dragon suggested that it was time for some Action! Afterall, Ripp was still a girl (though that fact didn't seem to be bothering him as much now as it had to start with), and the forces of evil needed to be dealt with. So, the companions used the Magical Shrub of Inge to teleport themselves to the Forest of Plot-Points, where they were assured that they could find the Great Enemy and - with a little luck and the Power of Glowing Faith - defeat him in battle (after losing once first, of course, so that then they could learn from whatever mistake they made and return with renewed strategy and detremination). In exchange for mercy, the Great Enemy would change Kitsune Ripp-chan back to his true form.
So, the companions landed in the Forest, resolved and ready for battle!
However, they soon decided that battling the forces of evil was hard and it would be much nicer, not to mention safer, to just lounge in the grass for awhile. ^^;;
Just off the set, Dominic watched with faint amusement.
Realizing that their ambitions were lacking, the compaions decided to give up any pretense of an actual plot in favor of just taking more pictures.
At some point, Kitsune Ripp-chan realized that he actually did have some Magical Girl powers and showed them off a bit, using the energy of his Pure Heart (*snerkt*) to illuminate a path through the inpenetrable Forest. For all the good it did, considering the group still had no plans of going anywhere. And, let's face it, Ripp's heart really wasn't all that Pure, so that light probably wouldn't have lasted more than two steps.
In a startling plot-twist that comes sometime toward the end of the first season, it's discovered that Keiri is not just Painfully Typical High School Girl with Weirdly Colored Hair. She is actually the long-lost Princess of Inexplicably Barren Planet with Mysterious Ruins, and it was Ripp's job to serve as her Protector while her spirit was safely and anonymously tucked away in her human guise.
As for the CyberAngel, he remains blonde, fussy and moody, but over the course of the series he slowly begins to open up to the affections of Kitsune Ripp-chan and viewers write lots of yaoi fanfiction to satisfy themselves and increase the attraction tension between the two characters. Unbeknownst to them, however, the series writers will screw them over in the last season by having the CyberAngel suddenly hook up with someone else entirely, who is a nice enough girl, but whom he had - up to that point - shown absolutely no romantic interest in. They'll also have him grow up and go into some completely ridiculous career he's utterly unsuited for (not that the player has ever had this happen in any anime she was obsessed with, nor would she be at all bitter about it if she had).
Finally, our group of companions took a picture together, including Dominic who had to be threatened with a dress of his very own to get him to join in. Surely, this is a team that will triumph over all manner of obstacles that the Forces of Evil want to throw their way (if they ever get around to actually finding any of those Forces of Evil and trying to fight them, that is), and only continue to grow more powerful. Look out, Evil-Doers! It's the Shining Happy Fun Time Kitsune Team! Banzai! Banzai!
"Ripp! What the hell are you doing out here daydreaming? Didn't I give you a list of chores to do?"
Oh well... sorry Ripp. Back to reality. ^_^
Just as a note - Ripp is not a genderswap! This whole shoot was done right on the Grunt's lot with the actual Ripp. He ended up in a dress with boobies thanks to this really fun site -
Simmergirl - which has fashions for Sim boys who want to be girls. It hasn't been updated in a long time, but what's there is a lot of fun. Ripp didn't like the make-over. He booed it quite adamantly. But that was just tough luck for him.
Also - Dominic really autonomously sat there and watched the entire shoot, when he could have been off doing any number of other things. I think he was appaled by the silliness but strangely attracted to it at the same time.
