Yeah, same, but I figured since I mentioned it in my last post, I should at least say a little bit about it.
Everything since the teaser after the mid-season finale was building toward that moment and doing a pretty good job, tbh. And they ruined it all with that ridiculous cut-away.
YESSS, this, so much... and they hyped it all up so much, you were really excited about this. ... only for it to be ruined like that.Of course no one wants to lose any of their favorites. BUT if you're going to do this, at least do it right, and don't go the coward's way.
I heard a theory that there might be flashbacks throughout the first half of the season. But honestly? I'd hate that, and I hope it's not what they're going to do. It would definitely be one way to keep the actor around.
they were too afraid to piss off fans and risk losing viewers going into season 7. The problem with the latter is that I think they'll actually lose more fans this way than if they'd just revealed who got killed in the finale.
Yeah, I think that's pretty much it. They probably wanted to test the waters, too. See who people want to see dead. But honestly, if they go the comic's way for it, it would be so lame. Simply because they hyped it up so much, and told everyone over and over that it wouldn't be what we'd expect. If they're giving us Glenn's death, they're giving us exactly what everyone expected. I'm still rooting for Daryl's death, but I'm not sure if they really have the guts to go there.
That's what happened with me after they killed my favorite and that's what happens with the majority of fans.
I'm still mad about it though. It actually prepared me for this right now. It taught me to lower my expectations *lol*
But yeah, I agree. What they did hurt them more than it helped them. Fans are pissed that they didn't reveal who died, fans will be pissed with a safe choice (like say Abe), fans will be pissed with a choice like Daryl, fans will be pissed if it's Glenn (too predictable, just like the comics, he escaped the zombies before, he'll be back again! aka not taking it serious). No matter what will happen, more fans will be pissed. Instead of getting it over with once and for all, they just made it worse for everyone, themselves included.

Ugh, I hope they don't do the flashback idea. They haven't done any in 6 years, why the hell would they start now? Like, they've played with time a bit and I guess they did technically have Hershel flashbacks at the end of season 4 but that was mostly about bringing the season full circle with Rick's devolution from farmer!Rick into a killing machine once again.
There's no one they can kill at this point and not piss people off. If it's a fan favorite like Daryl or Glenn, people will be pissed. If it's a safe choice ala Abe or Eugene, people will be pissed. If they go way out into left field and choose someone like Rosita or Aaron, people will be pissed. So it's a no-win situation, really. All we know for sure is that canon eliminated Rick and Carl and I'd say there's about a 3% chance of it being Michonne or Maggie. I'm not worried about them at all.
If the PTBs have any semblance of courage, it'll be Daryl. If not, I'm betting on Abe or Eugene. I've said this for the past few months, but I'll be genuinely surprised if it's Glenn because it makes his fake-out death(s) from last season totally pointless and even the least internet-savvy fans in the GA are expecting it to be him. Then again, these people decided to kill the tension built-up throughout an 8 episode arc with a damn cliffhanger so it's not like they're the smartest or most creative bunch.
My vote goes to Daryl for the emotional weight his death will carry, though of course I'll miss him and I'll be sad that Carol never got a chance to say goodbye.
