I'm falling back into the habit of not updating, so have an update before I wait another month to update again. This is a random entry, but random is good, RIGHT?
I'm really enjoying universe_the, it's nice to have a multifandom landcomm with easy challenges, like the polls and games, some fun challenges like trapped princess, where you are free to go crazy *lol* And the "normal" challenges, like writing, graphics, Big Bangs and stuff.
I binge watched Dexter. Season 4 - 7 in ... like a week. Season 4 was okay, and had some pretty good moments [but...]But mostly I couldn't help and think that Dexter is an idiot. For befriending a serial killer instead of killing him as soon as he got the chance Season 5 was probably my favorite, I always forget how good of an actor Julia Stiles is. Season 6 was okay, pretty crazy, and with some unexpected twists and turns. Didn't like Season 7 all that much. I blame [spoilers for all seasons behind here] that they didn't have a season killer they were chasing this season. Not counting LaGuerta trying to uncover Dexter. I also wasn't a big fan of LaGuerta this season... or the season before. I watched S4 and S5 and didn't have a problem with her, but in S6 and S7 she irritated and annoyed me. I blame Batista for this change. I don't mean this in a bad way, I actually think he made her more likable. But as soon as they were broken up, and not hiding anything anymore? She became annoying. Oh well...
I stayed unspoiled for some pretty big things. For an example, I was convinced Julia Stiles would be the evil mastermind Dexter would hunt in S5, and I had no idea about Colin Hanks and his role. I was spoiled for Rita (this is also the reason I stopped watching for the longest time, spoilers are evil! ;D), and Deb finding out. I also vaguely remembered that LaGuerta would die, but I mostly forgot that.
It was interesting to see some people on Dexter that are known for other roles now. Mrs. S from Orphan Black was Dexter's nanny for a season. I LOVED THAT! *lol* and OMG, Johnny Lee Miller, creepy as fuck!!! :D I also loved that Enver showed up as "Viktor". Of course he was killed shortly after, but that was all a plot from the Dollhouse, right? Yeah, thought so, too :D
First ep of S8 was promising, could be an interesting season, we'll see.
After Dexter, I started Spartacus. recced by malicat in my rec entry a couple weeks ago. I don't know what I expected from this show, but I definitely didn't expect this! Some things are pretty ridiculous, mostly the cgi effects in the beginning, like fights in slomo, and then extra slow blood splatter flowing through the air. Those shots were so ridiculous, they actually made me laugh. They dial that down a bit in later eps, but it's still there. Once you're used to it though(it won't take too long)... you're rewarded with amazing stories and interesting characters you can feel for. I'm hooked, to say the least. Oh, for everyone wondering, my last ep was 1x10 Party Favours... and I hardly know anyone's names. I'm bad with names, and I'm too afraid to look anyone up on imdb... did I mention that spoilers are evil?
Currently I'm reading Sookie book 11, Deadlocked, and it feels like Sookie got dumber since the last time. IDK, there were several scenes were I wanted to smack her with something, or yell at her because she didn't see the obvious thing that's right in front of her eyes... I'm hoping it's going to improve, but I don't have much hope for it.
Couldn't sleep last night, even though I was tired. I ended up taking a nap about an hour ago... but now I feel like I'm in this weird haze. Still not really awake, but at the same time awake. IDEK if that makes sense, but I also don't care *lol*
