What my future may bring......

After a lot of mulling things over, I've decided to go back to school. I've decided I don't want a job anymore. I want a career. And I want it to be something I find fun and interesting.

So, I'm going to go back to get a degree in something entirely different than what I originally went to school for. That's right. I'm going to get an a degree in digital gaming! It makes perfect sense. I'm naturally gifted at art, I love video games, and I LOVE computers! Plus, I'd get to actually use my brain and CREATE things that I can point at and tell someone "I did that!"

I found a program at BCC and it's only 93 credits. If I went fulltime, I would be done in 2 years, at $980 a quarter (15 credits). I'm pretty sure I could still work part time at the Polyclinic and possibly keep my health benefits. If I can't keep the bennies, I can always keep my figure skating coach license current and get healthcare through the ice skating institute for $75 dollars a month and no copay! WOOO! I'd need to keep at least a part time job so I could still afford my beautiful, sexy car and car insurance. But I wouldn't have to worry about my school loans because I'd be applying for FAFSA and therefore, I'm pretty sure my loans would go into deferment.

Anyways, I'm excited to be taking a step in the right direction: finding something I enjoy and making a living out of it. I havn't told my parents yet, and a part of me doesn't want to. I kinda wanna surprise them with it. But I know I can't keep it from them. Maybe I'll wait until I finish my first quarter than THEN tell them.

In any case, I need to make an appt with a counselor there and find out more about this specific program. I also want to keep researching other similar opportunities at other colleges. I'm thinking Seattle Community college, etc.

Oh my geez I'm soooooo excited!!

And on a completely unrelated note: I'm going to Bumbershoot tomorrow for the first time EVER! And I get to see the Offspring, Flobots, and DEATH CAB!!!!!
