Three, two, one, let's jam.

iTunes finally has Cowboy Bebop soundtracks available for download! Guess where the majority of my Christmas gift card went last night. :D I also cleaned up my playlists and discovered I have well over nine hours of nothing but stuff from the 80's. The only thing missing was some Debbie Gibson to recreate sounds from my childhood.

Well, we're back in the saddle. I took my last dose of Tamiflu this morning and I am incredibly happy to kick that AND the awful stomach cramp side effects to the curb. My appetite is slowly coming back and I know I'm on the mend when I start to suddenly crave bacon instead of brothy soups.

Starting weight as of Friday morning: 245
Weight yesterday morning and today: 239

I would NOT recommend losing six pounds in five days by way of the flu (everyone thinks that's what I had, but since I got the flu shot, I only got a mild case compared to the more serious stuff that's already put several people in the area into the hospital) to anyone.

To help get back in the swing of things, I decided to haul myself over to Mom and Dad's for a light workout. Turns out that I pushed myself even harder than I thought I was capable of doing yet and I feel great for doing so. I'm still in the de-load stage after missing two months of workouts, so I've knocked the weight way down and upped the reps to three sets of fifteen instead of three sets of ten. Today I decided to move the weight one notch higher than last time, and hopefully I can do the same next week so I can start on one of my quarterly resolutions to get back to pre-sick lifting weight.

Lifting in Chucks was awesome. My deadlift improved now that I have a more stable base to push up with my heels instead of my springier running shoes and for the first time, I really felt my abs activate instead of just my hamstrings and glutes. I'm pretty sure that my form is still a bit sloppy, and I really want to work on getting that down before getting too far up in weight. I did 45 lbs. tonight, but I could have probably shifted it up to 50. Go muscle memory for finally kicking in!

Going to try to get back to mostly Paleo for meal planning next week and focus on increasing my protein intake. I'm thinking of sweet potato hashes or scrambled eggs and broccoli for breakfast and batch cooking a bunch of steaks for dinners with wilted spinach and deconstructed salads. Going to have to do an inventory of my freezer to see just what I have before I make a concrete grocery list for the week.

2014 1st quarter resolutions, eating like a cavegirl, issa is a work in progress
